Dinner Party: While I made this piece I had a breakthrough in my own work as I decided this piece need more depth than I had ever added before. I developed what I call 'trapunto on steroids' as each piece is stuffed and stands 1" - 2” off of the surface of the quilt. I made some of these appliqué pieces on my home sewing machine and others I created on my long-arm Gammill machine. The entire piece was assembled and quilted on my Gammill. These photos show the piece a it progressed as well as the height differences of my ‘trapunto on steroids' method. This piece is in the collection of Don and Sara Weber.
